The site by John Spencer automatically caught my attention because I absolutely love Harry Potter and on the very first page of the website is a blog asking who was the best teacher at Hogwarts. I was hooked. In the article I was actually surprised on who he chose as the best teacher at Hogwarts mostly because it wasn't a teacher at all but a student. It's actually Harry, he then goes on to explain why stating that Harry is a great motivator and reminds his peers that their is more to life than passing a exams. He creates a community the celebrates their successes and learns from their mistakes this is a great lesson for teaching. I think often times we get so focused on the lesson we forget to celebrate the small successes. The creator of this blog, John Spencer is a former middle school teacher and now is a professor at a college. He talks about wanting to transform schools so they are more creative. I think this is awesome. Sometimes we tend to stifle creativity when we should embrace it in students. Creativity is important in the learning process and this blog has a lot of awesome ideas on how to bring creativity to your classroom and become a more effective teacher.
